This is who I am......

This is who I am...

My name is Kerry Knoll, I am originally from the Midwest and moved out West a few years ago. As you can probably tell I am a Web Designer by day, Rounder by night...I put this site together from my passion for Poker, Texas Hold'Em to be precise. I wanted to combine all the various elements I was searching for on the Internet about the game of Poker into a one-stop shop, so to speak.

Since the age of 18, I have been facinated with the idea that there's a certain edge a player can have over the House in the game of Blackjack. I did my fair share of studying and reading any and all books I could get my hands on. For a couple summers during my college days I supported myself by playing Blackjack at local Indian Reservation casinos.

But even though you can gain a certain percentage over the House in the long-run by playing perfect Basic Strategy along with counting cards and a few other tricks of the trade, you cannot truly count on winning as consistantly as you can by mastering the game of Poker. Here you're not competing against the House, but rather the skill level of the other players. It's the only true casino game where every decision you make has a direct result in your overall monetary expectation.

So as I had done with Blackjack in the past, I decided it was high time to learn as much about the game of Poker as humanly possible. In the game of Poker it's not only important to play every hand correctly, but to out think/play your opponent. That's where the Psychology of Poker comes into play. No matter how much one can learn from the numerous excellent books on the subject, nothing compares to the actual experience of real live action in a cardroom. That's where you can learn to read your opponents and learn from the mistakes you make (and you will make them). The key, whether you win or lose the hand or session, is to play each hand correctly based on all the elements (i.e. position, strength of hand, pot odds, bluffing odds, number of outs, reading your opponent, etc.) of the game.

Hopefully with the skills I have refined you will recognize my name and this site at the final table of the 2005 World Series of Poker.

You will probably find me sitting in a local cardroom near you...I look forward to making your acquaintance. Don't be shy, say hi and let me know what you think of my site.

Good Luck - Kerry ...

I had AA 2nd hand dealt, won $125...Then had 6cAc in BB and called $100 raise 4 ways, Flop 6 Q 2c, I checked and called $375 3 ways, Turn Ad, SB bet $1200, I called, River 9, SB bet $1200 again I called he had AK...I had $13600 early, lost $950 with 88, 77 x2 missed flops, flopped a set of 4s, flopped a set of Qs...I had AK raised to $300 utg, Button called, BB called, Flop A 7d 9d, I had the Kd, I bet $800, button raised to $2400, SB smooth called, I was sure one had two pair or a set...I laid AK down, Turn J, Button bet $2100, SB called for 50% of his stack, River rag, Button won...SB missed straight flush draw, button had AJ... $12600 after first break, $11200 after 2nd break...$11900 when I moved to my first new table. I played with Brian Fidler, Daniel's Protege at the first table...The only pot we tangled in I won with AK vs his AT...

My seat draw to my 2nd table was a very unlucky one...I happened to play with the biggest maniac I've ever played with...He got extremely lucky when I arrived to double up. Then got abusive...Raising with absurd amounts, blinds $100-200, he's raising $900, $1200, $1400, $1900, $2600...I would raise with KQ, AJ, AT, 55 he'd re-pop, I would have to lay down...When I was down to about $8500, Daniel Negreanu came over to my table and tapped my on the shoulder and asked how I was doing, I said I was hanging ($8550) and he said to keep hanging in there and I asked him how he was doing and he said he was around $40K. I was down to $5500 with KK, Guy raised to $2500 in front (not the maniac) I moved he called vs JJ...Had $11500...Then not one full orbit later I picked up KK again...I raised to $600, one caller, maniac re-pops to $3600, I move in for $7950 more, he takes forever and finally calls with AcJs, Flop c c rag, Turn c, River 2d...I had $25500...

Now here's where it gets sick...

I pick up AcQc very next hand 2nd to act, guy limps for $200, blinds $100/200 $25 ante...I raised to $1000, maniac calls, limper calls, Flop Q 8 2 rainbow...I bet $2K, maniac raises to $4K...I call, Turn Kc, I check he bets $6500, I muck...Lost $5000...He had either KQ or set of 8s or 2s...

$21500 after next break...

I'm on the button with QdQh, maniac raises to $800, guy calls, I call, Flop 3c Ts Jc...Maniac fires $1600, I raised to $4800, he wants me to count my chips, he then says I'll just call...Turn 8c, He fires out $22K...I muck my Qs face up and he says he had 5c2c...Lost $5600 in that hand.

Down to $15100...I pick up AK, blinds $150/300 with $25 ante...I raise 2nd to act to $900, maniac calls, Flop K J 2 rainbow, I bet $1600 into $2200ish pot...He calls, Turn Q, I bet $3200 to find out if he's got two pair or better, he raises min again to $6400, I know he has AT, KQ or QJ...I pray it's QJ to call...River Q...With $6075 left, I check and he says I'll let you live, showing QJ...Lost $8K in that pot.

After I was down to $5200 we moved tables...Finally we should have broken when I had $16K, but Harrah's decided instead of breaking the entire row, they started with the first table (we were 3rd in row) and broke 3 across and then again of course allowing me to lost another monster to this maniac.

My new table was very normal and very passive. At my new table I won one pot with 79 off in SB, Flop 5 7 7 to put me back up to $6300, which was unheard of at my last table with that maniac. Then I raised to $900 in cutoff with KhTh, but had to fold to re-raise from button. $5200 entering level 6. Blinds $200/400 with $50 ante...

I was down to $4200, 10x BB...In cutoff with As3s...Guy limped for $400, so with $1600 in the pot pre-flop I couldn't hardly fold...I knew limper was ultra tight and fold to any raise...So I knew I just had to get past button, SB, and BB...BB picked up a hand and called with TT...Flop 6s 7 4, Turn 2c, River Kd...

That was it for me...Done at about 1:30AM...Finished in top 1000 of 2138...

Daniel Negreanu ended the day with $78500...Brian Fidler has $16000. I wish I could say I was going them for Day 2, but I guess it wasn't meant to be.

Hello my name is Kerry Knoll, and I'm a professional poker player. I've taken down dozens of tournaments and have been at many final tables. You can take a look at some of my finishes from this past year.

This is for a stake up to 50% of my my earn for the single event. You're percentage of earn will be based on the number of dollars you stake me up to 50% of the earn.

Examples:

100% stake = $10,000 = 50% of the earn
1% stake = $100 = 0.5% of the earn

I'm interested in finding a backer for any and all upcoming events. First place in many of the preliminary events should be upwards to a quarter million dollars. I would also be interested in sponsorship for any main events, buy-in is normally around $10,000. First place in the main event is usually around three-quarters of a million dollars depending on the number of entrants of course. For more details on upcoming events please visit CardPlayer.com's website here.

Finally, I will also commit myself to helping the winning bidder with their own poker game.

Bidders should understand that I make no guarantees of my performance and that I will play my best game. Poker tournaments have highs and lows, and the best poker players do not win every single time they play.

Here's a few FAQs:

(1) If you're such a good poker player, why are you too broke to buy-in?

- It's just the price of these buy-ins are too much exposure for myself. If I'm not staked for this event I will just have to wait until the next event and hope someone has decided to take a chance on me. But one of the secrets to surviving as a professional poker player is to not expose yourself to too much risk, and right now with the start of my new poker career I would rather not expose myself to the $10,000 risk. It's all about money management.

(2) Why don't you just go online and win a few grand? If you can't do that, why would I want to back you?

- I do play online nearly everyday, but it's like anything you can do a lot of good and still not win enough money, not to mention I'd still rather not expose myself to the full amount.

(3) Have you drafted a contract?

- Yes, there is a service agreement that protects the investor(s) and myself. Feel free to download them below.

Thanks,

Kerry Knoll
